History

TX Grinding, Watson Grinding Company HistoryWatson Grinding was founded as a small specialty grinding shop in 1960 by James Watson.  Over the next few decades, the company grew to include a full-scale machine shop and to offer specialty thermal spray coatings.  James Watson was instrumentally involved in the development of High Velocity Oxygen Fuel (HVOF) coatings in the early 1980’s.

As the company grew, it gradually began to specialize in the manufacture and service of valve and pump components used in severe service processes.  Today, the company manufactures and services a wide variety of parts for a variety of applications requiring specialty manufacturing processes.

Strategic investments and technical innovations have consistently enhanced the capabilities of Watson Grinding, which now specializes in the turning and milling of exotic alloys, hard metals and large parts.  The addition of a robotic thermal spray facility and on-site metallurgical laboratory in recent years have also made Watson Grinding a leader in the precise application of thermal spray coatings that extend the service life of parts in highly corrosive environments.

Watson Grinding has always been a family business, and today the company is owned and operated by the founder’s son, John Watson; son-in-law, Bob White; and grandson, Jason White.

For over 50 years we’ve provided quality and service our customers trust. We have an international reputation for providing customized solutions to severe problems.
