Metallographic Preparation ASTM E1920
Metallography is performed by mounting a test specimen and polishing to expose a microstructure. The piece can then be examined using a light optical microscope. Coatings are examined for evidence of unmelted particles, metallic inclusion, voids/porosity, spalling, micro-cracking and bond line embedded contaminants. Metallic coatings can also be examined for oxide content. ASTM E1920. *Test within scope of A2LA Accreditation ISO 17025:2005 Cert.# 3390.01
